Advantages / Disadvantages of an AIS

Long gone are the days were piles and piles of journal were necessary to keep track of the company's operations. Today, most enterprises use electronic AIS such as

Sage MAS 500.

The benefits are proven and almost endless:

- The systems are consistent and free of human errors in tabulations.
- Report could be prepared with the click of a mouse and forwarded to relevant parties
- Vendor-related tasks are simplified and accelerated
- Web-base reporting enhances accessibility

Unfortunately, nothing is perfect even in today's modern world and even Accounting Information Systems have they're disadvantages

-Reliability remains a worrying issue - if one is completely reliant on a software or an exploitation system, a computer crash could have tremendous adverse effects.
-Security issues are always a concern when using softwares with web based applications
